The Plan
The house renovations will be loosely divided up into two separate phases, spanning three years. Click here to see a spreadhseet view of what these phases encompass. Below you will find descriptions and drawings of what the renovations to each floor will entail.
First Floor
During phase one, the first floor will see a significant transformation. The kitchen will be moved up to the current serving room and rear living quarters area. The living room and dining room will be redesigned and a new library and ADA-compliant bathroom will be added. The hardwood floor will be stripped, sanded, and refinished and new windows and doors will be added. Click here for the proposed first floor plan.
Second Floor
The second floor will be the main focus of phase two. Suite areas will be added as main congregation areas with several bedrooms connected to each. All rooms will be renovated, to include new paneling, paint, trim, ceiling tiles, and light fixtures and controls. The hardwood floor will be stripped, sanded, and refinished and new windows and doors will be added. The entire bathroom will be redone, to include all new plumbing. Click here for the proposed second floor plan.
Third Floor (The Ram)
The third floor will receive a complete overhaul during phase one. Bedrooms and living suites (similar to those on the second floor) will be added, including new windows and doors. Heating will be added. Click here for the proposed third floor plan.
Exterior/Roof
During both phases, work will be performed on the house's exterior and the roof. In fact, roof work has already commenced as a result of nearly $100,000 in pledges to date and the once leaking roof has been replaced, reinforced, and re-shingled. The dormers will be rebuilt and the fire escapes will be replaced. The house will receive new vinyl siding and the front porch will be rebuilt. An ADA compliant ramp will be added to the rear entrance of the building. Storm drainage will be added and some landscaping work will be performed.
Basement
The only work performed on the basement area will be updating the exits.
Building-Wide
The entire house will receive updated electrical, fire, security, and heating systems. It will become insulated and leaks will be closed to prevent drafts and heat loss. A ventilation system will also be added.
